About the Role
Do you want to be part of launching a brand new event from the ground up? This is a rare opportunity to join a leading international media and events business and sell sponsorship for its new European Tech conference.

With almost 30 years of experience serving global B2B audiences, our client connects thousands of senior executives with the professionals, ideas and partners shaping their industries, through its news platform and an award winning portfolio of large scale conferences, trade exhibitions and awards programmes.

As Sponsorship Sales Manager, you will join a commercially driven team and build relationships with senior decision makers across the technology sector. Our client invests in and develops the right person rather than simply looking for ready made experience, making this an ideal next step for an ambitious early career salesperson who wants a long term career in B2B events.

What the Role Involves
  • Selling sponsorship packages to senior and board level decision makers
  • Creating consultative, tailored proposals based on each prospect's business goals
  • Building and managing your own new business pipeline, supported by warm leads from an established database
  • Identifying new revenue opportunities and sponsorship formats to grow income across the portfolio
  • Building your professional profile on LinkedIn to raise your visibility and support your sales activity

What You Will Need
  • 1-2 years of professional b2b sales experience in recruitment, commercial sales or a similar target driven role
  • A degree, or the ability to show equivalent potential and drive
  • Confidence building relationships and communicating with senior people
  • Strong research and prospecting skills, and real enjoyment in finding and winning new business
  • A target driven mindset with good pipeline discipline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine interest in business, technology and how industries evolve
  • The ambition to build a long term career with one organisation

What is on Offer
  • Base salary up to £45,000 plus commission
  • The chance to help launch a new event and grow with it
  • A well established, internationally recognised events and media brand
  • Genuine investment in your development, with clear progression for strong performers
  • Exposure to production, marketing, delegate sales and client services teams
  • An entrepreneurial and supportive culture that rewards initiative
  • International career opportunities and great company benefits
