Senior Marketing Manager - B2B Conferences
Salary up to £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Office is based in central London (hybrid, three days a week)
About the Role
My client is a well established international B2B conference business, running a large portfolio of senior level events across a wide range of industries and regions. Their events are known for the quality of their content and the strength of the relationships they build with attendees and sponsors.
They are looking for a Senior Marketing Manager to take ownership of their most complex, highest value portfolio and take the first step into people leadership. This is a genuinely senior role: you keep the practical marketing expertise that got you here, while starting to carry real responsibility for developing someone else.
This is a business that invests in its people. You will join a supportive, experienced marketing team, with a clear commitment to progression based on achievement and a detailed training programme to help you get there.
What the Role Involves
- Running marketing for the most complex / highest value portfolio from start to finish, with full autonomy
- Line managing and developing a Marketing Executive or Senior Marketing Executive through goal setting, regular one to ones, skills development and performance feedback
- Owning sponsorship marketing for your portfolio, alongside core delegate acquisition
- Acting as the first point of escalation for Marketing Managers and Associate Marketing Managers on campaign and data issues
- Bringing an entrepreneurial approach to growth by identifying and pitching new channels, formats and partnerships
- Representing Marketing in senior meetings with the Sales and Production teams
- Mentoring colleagues across the wider team on plan quality and channel strategy
- Introducing new ideas and safe, practical uses of AI and technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency
What You'll Need
- B2B events marketing experience is essential, including a proven track record running a portfolio independently at Marketing Manager level
- Readiness for line management, even if you have not yet managed people formally
- An entrepreneurial mindset: you spot growth opportunities rather than waiting to be told
- A strong coaching instinct and a genuine interest in helping others succeed
- Confidence making judgement calls and owning escalations without needing sign off on every decision
- The presence to represent Marketing with senior stakeholders
- An ownership mentality: you treat your portfolio as if it were your own business
- Positive approach to using Tech and AI as part of the marketing strategy.
If you are an events marketer ready to step up, take on a flagship portfolio and start building your leadership experience, I would love to hear from you.
