VIP Relationship Manager - Conferences & Events

Based in central London

Basic Salary £22K + £8K OTE + 25 days holiday + Benefits

You will be joining a global events business who offer great training & development and excellent long term UK & International career progression.

The VIP Relationship Manager is responsible for identifying and developing relationships with VIPs from key industry sectors in order to secure their participation in various events.

Key Skills: An excellent phone manner, strong Internet research skills, time management with an ability to multi-task, solid interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and the ability to make cold calls are all essential.

The Job

  • Liaising with conference producers, sales team members, speakers and sponsors to identify key industry VIPs (e.g. investors, corporates and other buy-side individuals) to invite to the events.
  • Contacting the selected individuals on the phone to discuss attendance and potentially to secure their participation in various structured networking / social formats.
  • Work closely with the conference producer to validate the eligibility of incoming requests for VIP passes.
  • Register VIP clients on the system
  • Work closely with event sponsors to maximise the participation of their clients in the event.
  • Building strong relationships with these key individuals to create brand commitment and loyalty.
  • Potentially organise VIP Dinners, Breakfast Briefings and Closed-Door Meetings
  • Meet and greet the VIPs onsite at the events, ensure they are looked after and participate in the proposed networking/social programme.

The Person

The VIP Relationship manager must be able to identify suitable VIPs, approach them with details of the conference (they may well be attending for free) and secure their attendance on the day. You will ideally be a graduate with 1-2 years phone based B2B sales experience in events or related industry. You will be:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manner
  • Extremely organized, with outstanding time management and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to timescales
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Hardworking and diligent
  • Strong internet research skills
  • Proven ability to use initiative when required and to go 'above and beyond’ in order to deliver excellent customer service
  • Experience of building relationships and working with C level executives
