For over 25 years our media & events client have been successfully developing their reputation as a leading producer of international large scale conference & exhibitions. Their events attract thousands of high level business professionals, internationally recognised sponsors and are a great platform for start-up companies to promote their products or services.


The job

This newly created entry level role is perfect for a Graduate looking to step into events. The VIP Guesting Manager reports into the Event Project Director and will work alongside the conference producer and sponsorship sales manager. Within this role you will take responsibility for developing the audience of the event by promoting complementary VIP passes to individually selected business professionals. The VIP Guest Manager will also research and secure relevant & exciting start-up businesses who would benefit from exhibiting at the event.


We expect you will be on the phone a lot talking with high level decision makers, writing engaging & promotional emails, updating the CRM (Salesforce) and researching new leads & contacts. This is a target orientated role and you will be working to agreed VIP & start-up attendees within agreed timelines.


There will be data and business lead’s available for you to develop, however this role would suit an inquisitive person who uses their initiative and source many of their own VIPS & Start-ups through networking, internet research and collaboration with sales, marketing & production.


The person

To be considered for this position you will be:

  • A graduate with a 2:1 or a 1st degree
  • Ideally you will have worked in a research or telesales job whilst at university or post studies and be confident talking with professionals over the phone.
  • You will be looking for an entry level role in commercial international events business and considering a long term career in business development or conference production
  • Have excellent communications skills (written & verbal) as you will be on the phone a lot and writing plenty of business emails.
  • Be organised and have really good time management skills
  • Be a collaborative and positive team player
  • Have creative and innovative business ideas
  • As you will be working on a big event you need resilience, commitment, motivation and determination to keep going
  • Be capable of working to deadlines and targets
