Salary circa £27K + Uncapped Commission year 1 OTE £40K

For over 25 years our media & events client have been successfully developing their reputation as a leading producer of international large scale conference & exhibitions. These B2B events attract thousands of high level business professionals, internationally recognised business sponsors & exhibitors and offers a great platform for start-up companies to promote their products or services.

 

The job

We are recruiting a Business Development Manager to join a newly created events team in a well established & growing London office. You will report into the Project Director and be responsible for:

 

  • Building relationships with businesses and identify & deliver the best possible sponsorship & exhibition opportunities available for them at your event
  • You will be expected to be on the phone a lot and attend meetings
  • You will be selling high value sponsorship and exhibition space (or a combination of both) at tech focused renewable energy events.
  • You will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the market place via research, networking and securing / conducting meetings with key players in the industry.
  • You will work to agreed targets for each event and manage your sales pipeline autonomously

  • This position will report into an experienced & successful project director who will support, guide and work with you.

 

The ideal candidate

  • A graduate with a 2:1 or a 1st degree
  • Experienced sales professional with 1-2 years experience gained in recruitment, media sales, IT sales or perhaps delegate sales.
  • A confident communicator, persuasive and able to negotiate
  • Quick starter and keen to learn – able to research and identify new contacts and use your initiative to generate new leads
  • Account management and relationship building skills
  • Ambitious, articulate, and able to write
  • You will need to be presentable and confident enough to manage meetings with high profile corporate organisations
  • Organised, self motivated and excellent time management
  • Will be looking to grow their career with the company
  • Experience with Salesforce advantageous
